Is it stardom or stardoom for arrogant film star Jefferson Steel? Will he stay and accept "just toast" from his B&B lodgings instead of his preferred breakfast at the Five Star hotels he’s used to.

Will he play King Lear for them or will it be ‘beneath’ him? Will he save the day, or will he leave the Stratford players without a star putting their theatre at risk of closing down?

An outwardly funny play that cleverly intertwines a story of an internal fall from grace in the only world Steel has ever known. Rumours by Neil Simon charts the stories that four couples give of an evening that was due to be a dinner party, but ended up with a cover up.

During the play, you will meet Chris and Ken, who are the first to arrive and start the rumours. Claire and Len contribute yet more to the gossip, while Cookie and Ernest, who get mistakenly identified as the cook and the butler, add their version of events.

Cassie and Glen are having their owndifferences, leading to misunderstandings, and, as usual, Glenn tends to put his foot in his mouth.

It’s the first time they have performed live; their other exams were held on Zoom. As Salty, Gail and Hobby prepare to leave state education, it appears that Miss Nixon is moving on too, to the local private school.
